When a person thinks of a migraine, they often think of sickening and debilitating pain. While this is commonly associated with headaches, the term migraine is also used with temporary dysfunctions in the eyes as well. The term is called an Eye Migraine; however, these occurrences differ a great deal from the migraines that everybody associates migraines with.

The big difference is that with ocular migraines or an Eye Migraine, there is no pain associated with it. This seems to fly in the face of the term migraine, but in this case, there is no pain, aching or throbbing. That is not to say it is pleasant by any stretch of the imagination. That is because these ocular migraines normally accompany a migraine headache as well.

Usually, when you are experiencing a migraine headache, an Eye Migraine or several eye migraines are common. The occurrence will normally be in the form of auras and disturbances such as zigzag lines, spots and so forth in your visual field.

Typically, only one eye is generally effected and the effects can start in any portion of the eye. However, what people tend to report is these auras and visual disturbances will start in the corner of their eye and slowly move to the other side of the eye. Often times this will repeat itself several times over because a typical time frame for an Eye Migraine is around an hour or so.

Of course, this moving from one side or another is not always the case. Typically, what is generally affected is the field of vision, so if you happen to switch your field of vision during an ocular migraine, the chances are good that the effects of the migraine will switch as well. However, the moving of the migraine visualizations seem to be a common and standard effect for most people experiencing a migraine of this type.

Migraines are not fun and they can disrupt a persons life is some more severe cases. Add to that the visual distortions that come from an Eye Migraine and you are now in a very bad way. If you experience these problems regularly, it is best to speak with your doctor immediately so that you can receive proper treatment for you condition.

What is an eye migraine? It’s essentially a migraine that involves a person’s vision. When a person has an eye migraine he or she usually has impaired vision for a period of time, which is usually as long as the migraine lasts. That being said, it can be a really troubling thing to deal with. For those who would like to know more, this article will go over some Eye Migraine Causes and Symptoms as well as information on what people can do in order to treat the problem.

What causes a person to get an eye migraine? There are actually a lot of reasons why a person would begin to suffer from an eye migraine. Chemicals that are found in certain foods, caffeine, prescription medications, hormonal changes, alcohol, stress, sleep loss and weather changes have all proven to be possible reasons for why someone would have an eye migraine, which means that it can be hard to treat for some people since sometimes it’s very hard to figure out what the problem is and what caused the migraine in the first place. Simply put, the topic of Eye Migraine Causes and Symptoms can be a confusing one as it can differ from person to person.

So, what sort of symptoms can people expect to have to deal with when going through an eye migraine? Since Eye Migraine Causes and Symptoms can differ the symptoms that a person will go through will also differ. However, some of the most common symptoms include fatigue and aura. What is aura? Aura basically involves the eyes as a lot of people will see flashing lights, weird lines and so on. Basically, a person dealing with aura will deal with impaired vision while suffering from the migraine.

There really aren’t a lot of treatment options for those who suffer from eye migraines. As a matter of fact, the brief vision loss that people experience when going through an eye migraine usually isn’t treated, however, the headache part can be treated. Most of the time doctors will tell a person to simply stay away from the things that can trigger the headache. Other than that, certain medications may be prescribed to help relax blood vessels and keep the headaches from coming so frequently. Hopefully this article on Eye Migraine Causes and Symptoms has been helpful to those looking for some good information on the topic.

Regards
